Kathryn (“Kat”) Vicere has been active in the Frederick theater scene since childhood, debuting in The King and I with the Fredericktown Players. Moving from center stage to behind the scenes, she now plays pivotal roles in Frederick, including serving as the Maryland Ensemble Theatre (the MET) Managing Director from 2018 to 2022. Guest Bio:

Kathryn (Kat) Vicere is currently the Community Impact Manager at the Ausherman Family Foundation (AFF). At the time of the podcast recording, she was the Managing Director of the Maryland Ensemble Theatre. During her four-year tenure, she helped grow the 25-year-old theatre from a half-million-dollar budget to a 1-million-dollar budget, steering the MET through strategic planning, guiding the organization through the COVID crisis, and more. A Master Teaching Artist, Kat has taught theater and musical theater courses and developed numerous education programs. Born and raised in Frederick, MD, Kat performed professionally as a youth in numerous musical and theatrical productions, including the title role of Annie. She has directed and written for theater companies in Maryland as well as directing for New York Production companies. Kat is particularly passionate about serving the Frederick community through collaborative projects that enable all residents to enjoy art, culture, and a better quality of life – she is proud to serve at AFF, a Foundation that focuses its efforts on making Frederick an amazing place to live.
