Sandra Hofmeister owns A&S Construction, LLC, one of the only female- and Hispanic-owned construction businesses in Frederick, MD. With a background in accounting, a series of life events led Sandra to enter the construction industry. Through hard work and dedication, she moved from an administrative position to Production Manager, overseeing crews, jobs, purchasing, and production. When COVID-19 hit, Sandra lost her job, but past colleagues urged her to return to the industry and start her own business, and A&S Construction was born. Sandra has been featured in Frederick Lifestyle Magazine, Women of AWE podcast, and WeThrive. Sandra is an active member of the Women in Business Committee of The Frederick Chamber of Commerce, Frederick County Builders Association, Washington County Builders Association, Diversity and Equity Committee for The Frederick Chamber of Commerce, Frederick Chamber of Commerce (where she is an Ambassador), and the Diversity and Equity Board for the City of Frederick. She always wants to give back to the community she calls home.
